Chinese painting and traditional opera are both traditional Chinese culture.Their common cultural background enables them to influence and integrate each other in their development.With the spread and development of Western art in the 20 th century,people’s thoughts gradually get rid of the shackles and start to actively seek breakthroughs and development.The traditional opera characters with national symbols and national characteristics have become the theme of people’s creation.Lin Fengmian is a representative opera figure painter.His opera figure modeling is to integrate oriental culture and spiritual connotation into western art,with a unique artistic style.This paper mainly analyzes the common points of opera and ink painting from the aspects of freehand brushwork,virtuality and decoration.Then,based on the historical background and personal experience of Lin Fengmian,this paper analyzes the formative factors of his figure painting.From the traditional and Western perspectives,this paper discusses the influence on the artistic modeling of Lin Fengmian and the expression of his subjective emotion under the characteristics of the times.Finally,through the analysis of Lin Fengmian’s treatment of layout,line,color and space,to further explore the modeling characteristics of his opera figure painting,and the inspiration and influence of visual communication brought by various modeling language forms on me.
