A Study On Folk Characters Of Feng Kekuan’s Chinese Handwriting Poems During His Visit To China

This article takes the Chinese Poems of Feng Kekuan when he visited China as corpus. These poems are recorded in ‘Collection of Chinese Yanxing Literatures of Vietnam’(Hereinafter referred to as ‘Yanxing Literatures’). This article made a thorough research and arrange to those allogeneic Chinese characters in it, combined with ancient Chinese books and traditional handwriting books, to present the spreading trace of Folk characters(means characters in popular form, a type of the allogeneic Chinese character) in Vietnam. It explored the local feature which Folk character has expressed in the exotic areas such as Vietnam, and expanded the research domain of Chinese Folk characters.The main contents are as followed:Chapter One: Preface. It gave a brief introduction of the situation of ‘Yanxing Literatures’, the filter conditions and the editions of Feng Kekuan’s poems during his visit to China; it also gave a simple research to the era of Feng Kekuan’s handwriting poems during his visit to China; it briefly stated the current Folk character research situation of abroad Chinese literatures such as Yanxing Literature, Japanese and Korean literatures, and Vietnam literatures, to explore a new research space; it introduced the content, methods and meaning of this research.Chapter Two: Research to the type and evolution of folk characters in Feng Kekuan’s Handwriting Poems during His Visit to China. I chose “stroke”, “component” and “whole character” as my index to classify them, and I made several sub-class under those main classes, in order to give a full view of the folk characters in Feng Kekuan’s Handwriting Poems during His Visit to China, and to express the whole style of Vietnam Folk characters. I made a research to the evolution of Folk characters’ shape on the basis of this classification, to explore the trace of the evolution.Chapter Three: The inherited and mutated Folk character from Feng Kekuan’s Handwriting Poems during His Visit to China. I analyzed the Folk characters in Feng Kekuan’s Handwriting Poems during His Visit to China from the aspect of inheritance and mutation. The inherited Folk character means to compare the Folk character in the handwriting poems to those in Ancient Chinese books, to explore the source of them; the mutated Folk characters means those strongly localized Folk character, which are seldom seen in Chinese books. I separately discussed those mutated Folk characters generated from Chinese characters and those generated from sawndip.Chapter Four: The research and explanation on Feng Kekuan’s Handwriting Poems during His Visit to China. I picked up 5 rare Folk characters in Feng Kekuan’s Handwriting Poems during His Visit to China, made a thorough research and brought up my own explanation. I gave a brief analysis of how and why those rare Folk characters evolved.Chapter Five: Summary. First I summarized the three feature of Vietnam Folk characters: Symbolization, ambiguity and allogeneic. I also generalized the content of the whole article and proposed the research direction and domain in the future.
