Since the new century,the novels’ creation of Shanghai writers is developing rapidly.Wang Anyi and other writers who grew up in the new era still keep a relatively vigorous creative vitality,inherit and promote the literary and cultural traditions of Shanghai.At the same time,a multitude of young writers are also pouring into the literary circles,and have made outstanding achievements in literature,and become an important part of Shanghai literary circles and even Chinese contemporary literature.Although these writers come from different intergenerational groups and have different fates,they all commit unprecedented description enthusiasm to the daily life of Shanghai people.The writing of Shanghai’s daily life in novels in the new century has close relationship to the social and historical background and cultural characteristics of Shanghai,such as the artificial urban landscape,deep commercial tradition,the incomparable international level in the whole country,the modern fashion world with the old and the new,the east and the west,the smart and pragmatic citizen cultural psychology,etc.,which make the daily life in Shanghai novels have totally different text forms and aesthetic characteristics from other regional writers.As a field of "free and natural objectification",daily life takes traditional customs,experience,consanguinity,emotion and other daily ethics as the uppermost regulating system.Therefore,this paper chooses "daily life" as the core goal,sets foot on the features of Shanghai urban culture,respectively starts from the four aspects of love communication,family relations,profession norms,and life situation,gives overall generalization to the creation of Shanghai novels in the new century,and on this basis,this paper extracts the aesthetic characteristics of the daily life of Shanghai novels in the new century and its special significance for examining China’s modernization process.The main body of this paper can be divided into five chapters.The first chapter elaborates the expression form and spiritual connotation of love writing in Shanghai novels in the new century respectively from two aspects: sentimental and flashymaterialized love and object-thing integrated "petty bourgeoisie" love.The second chapter sets foot on family relationship,analyzes the refined and narrow family relationship of Shanghai novels in the new century from three aspects: husband and wife ethics that men are superior to women,mutually beneficial intergenerational norms,and vain and mean family relatives.The third chapter focuses on the analysis of the workplace life standards in Shanghai novels in the new century from two aspects: smart and pioneering professional spirit and rational and pragmatic communication in workplace.The fourth chapter returns to a metaphysical conceptual level,focuses on Shanghai people’s artless life style,smart and economical survival way and the life experience of narcissism,in this way,the self-sufficiency and bright life modality of Shanghai people in the new century can be concluded.On the basis of the first four chapters,the fifth chapter further refines the aesthetic characteristics and artistic style of the writing of Shanghai daily life in the novels in the new century.Through analyzing the feminine text flavour,the soft Shanghai dialect,the "petty bourgeoisie" style daily life,and the open and narcissistic ethical entanglement,it clarifies the feminization of “magic city”Shanghai’s daily life writing.The conclusion part points out the important value of daily life writing in Shanghai novels in the new century,that is,as a model of urban literature,it shows the aesthetic characteristics of the transformation from "city" s modernization to "human" s modernization,which provides us with a very important reference sample for having an insight into the internal changes and modernization process of modern urban daily life.
