As one of the classic aesthetic symbols in traditional culture,ornamental stone has always been favored by the literati.Whether in poetry or painting,there are countless art creations related to stone.Ornamental stone into painting,especially freehand flower and bird in the creation of an important cornerstone.Ornamental stone grows in nature,is the most basic carrier of all things in the world,and has an inseparable relationship with people's survival and development.Therefore,it is endowed with multi-level significance by people because of its characteristics.With the development of the times,his modeling,technique,composition and metaphor have also experienced development and change.Before the Ming Dynasty,the shapes of ornamental stones must meet the aesthetic requirements of natural stones.After the Ming Dynasty,with the literati's feelings,the shape of the ornamental stone began to appear randomness and uncertainty,and the existence of the ornamental stone in the picture is more in line with the expression of the literati's ink interest.It is neither completely from nature nor created out of its own shape.So the literati in Ming Dynasty would like to call themselves by stone,in fact,they rely on the ornamental stone to integrate their feelings,ambitions and feelings into the stone.The natural shape of the ornamental stone is discarded by the painter,and the part that conforms to the spirit of the picture is preserved for display.Ornamental stone has become the most popular expression carrier of literati painters,which is subject to the arbitrary shape of painters.With the gradual maturity of freehand flower and bird painting,the stone in the hands of literati painters is more of a sense of brushwork and randomness.In this paper,the author enumerates the prevalence of appreciation stone in literary works and painting works,through the study of composition and expression techniques of appreciation stone in traditional painting in the past dynasties,tracing the development of appreciation stone as an aesthetic object.And selected the most representative painters of Ming Dynasty,Chen Chun,Xu Wei and other artists and their works for analysis,to show the impact of stone painting on later generations,focusing on the representative works of eight mountain people and Qi Baishi.On the expression of ornamental stone in freehand flower and bird painting in Ming Dynasty...
