Translation Practice Report On Virtual Spears And Network Shields:World Politics Of Cyber Security And South Korea

This translation practice report is based on the book Virtual Spears and Network Shields: World Politics of Cyber Security and South Korea.And this paper analyzes the difficulties in translation practice from the perspective of textual coherence.This book is an academic text in the field of international politics and security.It presents some new perspectives of cyber security theory and elaborates on the situation of cyber security in the world thoroughly and professionally.Therefore,the author also pays attention to the professionalism,accuracy and fluency of the translated text in the process of translation so as to improve the readers' experience.In this translation practice,the author mainly translated the preface and the first chapter.The report of translation practice with over 31,000 translated words consists of five parts: introduction,introduction of the translation project,theoretical foundation,analysis of translation contents,analysis of translation examples,and conclusion.The first three chapters mainly introduce the background,main content,purpose and significance of the translation project,the translation process,the theory of textual coherence,coherence characteristics of the original text,and difficulties of this translation practice.Chapter Four is the application of textual coherence in translation practice.In order to deal with long and difficult sentences and complex logic relations in the original text,the author classifies the translation difficulties according to three levels: grammatical coherence,semantic coherence and pragmatic coherence.By analyzing the characteristics of the coherent patterns of the source text and the differences between it and Chinese expression,the author adopts appropriate translation strategies to construct a coherent translation of the target text.Chapter Five summarizes the gains,enlightenments and limitations of the translation practice and report.The topic of this translation practice project is closely related to the practical needs of the work.It is authoritative and has certain reference significance.It can provide new theoretical perspectives for military and civil researchers on relevant issues.Starting from the textual level,this report gets rid of one-dimensional static comparative analysis and solves the difficult problems in the process of translation practice by combining the text analysis method with translation strategies,hoping to provide reference for the translation practice of similar texts.
