A Translation Project Report Of Cyber Power: Crime, Conflict And Security In Cyberspace(Chapter Nine)

This is a translation project report based on the article “Fight against Cybercrime”, the ninth chapter from the book Cyber Power: Crime, Conflict and Security in Cyberspace. The original chapter mainly describes the measures needed to be taken on fighting against cybercrime.The source text is one kind of expository writing. Because it involves fighting against cybercrime, so there are a large number of technical terms and legal vocabulary. Guided by text type theory, the translator employs different kinds of translation strategies and techniques during the translation process, hoping to be able to convey the original meaning. Meanwhile, the translator hopes this project can bring a little help to the fight against cybercrime and cybersecurity in China. This report briefly introduces the original author, the project background, language feature and stylistic features of the source text. Guided by related translation theories, through the specific case analysis of the source text, the translator adopts different translation techniques like linear translation, restructuring, conversion, combination and division to deal with long sentences.
