Lohengrin as Wagner's last romantic opera,received little attention at home.Even so,it plays an important transitional role in Wagner's opera reform.This thesis with the German medieval myth in Lohengrin theme is as the breakthrough point,use of social history,comparative study and analysis method,through the study of German medieval mythological Wagner opera adaptation,plays music(script),and reveal the Lohengrin in Wagner important transition in the process of reform,to prove "Lohengrin" is the initial manifestation of its overall artistic conception,express his pursuit of Germany in the middle ages the mythological eternal spirit.The thesis consists of three chapters.The first chapter is an overview of the background knowledge of the paper,focusing on the theoretical basis of this paper,namely Wagner's overall artistic view of opera,followed by the introduction of opera script content and the source of the theme.The second and third chapters are the main part of the thesis.The second chapter deals with the treatment of German medieval mythological themes by the adaptation of opera script,analyzing the adaptation of dramatic scenes and characters.The third chapter is the treatment of German medieval mythological subjects by dramatic music,mainly from the perspective of the external structural integrity and internal texture integrity of opera,including the analysis and demonstration of aria,prelude,orchestra,dominant motivation,etc.Through the study of the operatic treatment of German medieval mythology,it is concluded that Lohengrin is the initial embodiment of Wagner's overall artistic concept,plays an important role in the opera reform of Wagner,and expresses Wagner's pursuit of eternal values.
