With the continuously upgrading of technology,the application of new rendering tools in the animation industry has become a supporting power in producing impressive animation works.Any animation company who’s capable of developing its own tools will surely enjoy the leading strength in the fierce competition currently.This report is based on the Chinese translation of six English articles introducing the new light rendering engine MoonRay on www.awn.com/animationworld--a U.S.website collecting and sharing animation-related information.Analyses are made on the problems in the translation and the corresponding solutions.During the translation process,the translator encountered the problems of inaccuracy in searching professional words and phrases,overfocus on the colloquial expressions and inefficiency in proofreading the proper nouns.The translator increased her accuracy of searches of the translation of the professional words and phrases with more specific words.She tried to verify the real meanings of the colloquial expression between the lines and transfer them in a more natural way in Chinese.She tried to increase the efficiency of proofreading of the proper nouns with the authoritative terminology bank.By doing this translation,the translator has realized the real problems and what is the right way to solve the problems.She also has learnt what is the proper attitude towards translation.Hopefully,this translation may be helpful to develop the translation abilities.
