Yan Zun lived in the middle and late Western Han Dynasty,whose book named Laozi Zhigui was once regarded as a forgery.But Laozi Zhigui has been basically recognized that it is not fake by Modern Scholars.Since Western Han Dynasty,Research on Laozi once declined.With Less interpretation and annotation of Daode Jing,Yan Zun and his works are of typical significance.Laozi Zhigui is a philosophical work which integrates the thought of Laozi,Zhuangzi and Huanglao Taoism in fact.Yan Zun established a relatively complete ideological and theoretical system on Tao based on the text structure of Daode Jing.Yan Zun interpretated Tao from two aspects of generationism and ontology at the metaphysical level,which could create all things and which is primitive and internal basis of all things.Yan Zun integrated person and things by Tao so as to compromise metaphysics and subphysics.Yan Zun has made a lot of expositions on self-development and state affairs at the physical level.He thought that person could be developed if body and country could be united.The characteristics of Tao's nature and inaction is self-development principles and internal motivation,and restoring the mind in silence is the key to life maintenance.Spirit in body is equivalent to King in country on the basis of body-country theory.The theory of governing the country highlights the importance of emperor,and emperor's cultivation of body-mind is the premise of governing the country.Yan Zun created a systematic ruling strategy including Huanglao Taoism for emperor on base of inaction.The ruling strategy is used to coordinate the relations between emperor and officials,emperor and people trying to create a flourishing society in which officials are promising and people are happy in order to realize the return to Tao at last.
