Yanjunping, a Taoist scholar at the later Western Han Dynasty. His"Laozi Zhigui" explained and developed comprehensive and innovative forphilosophy of "Laozi", which proved important in the Taoism in the Western HanDynasty even all period. However, a systematic study to his thought is not fully doneyet. This article tries to show overall Yanjunping's ideology on "Tao", throughdiscussion for the relation about ontology and function of "Tao".At first, this article discusses Yanjunping and "Laozi Zhigui" which spreadingand the authenticity, then which analyzes absorption of the works about thought ofscholars in the Han Dynasty, and influence to the later Taoism.About ideology on "Tao", Yanjunping thought that "Tao" was "Nihility" inessence, so it became the supreme ontology of all existence. But, Yanjunping stillthought that "Tao" had the attribute of "Gas", he didn't cast off the theory aboutGeneration in the Han Dynasty. Stressed, he pointed out firstly that "Tao" meant"Nature", and carried out the conclusion to the area of the life and politics, in order toguide the change and development of the universe. In the life, Yanjunping advocated"Inaction" to conduct oneself in society; in the politics, he advocated "Inaction" togovern the country.Yanjunping's Epistemology and his thinking were inseparable from the ideologyon "Tao". The object of his Epistemology was "Tao". He thought that "Tao" might berealized by individual, but not be expressed, only could be experienced intuitively by"Chizi". Reverse thinking, Harmony thinking and Analogy thinking were throughYanjunping's ideology on "Tao". After a systematical study on Yanjunping "LaoziZhigui", it is clear that his ideology on "Tao" was discussed in the form of ontologyand function. "Tao" was "Nihility" "Nature", which not only was the ontology of allexistence, but also was the total rules of the development of the human society.
