This paper focuses on the poetry of the death of Seamus Heaney.Heaney's death-themed poems include his own dead relatives, the victims of the social conflict in Northern Ireland, the iron-age mummies buried in the swamp, and the translation, adaptation and imitation of the theme works of death in the tradition literary. With regard to the artistic transmission of the subject of death,Heaney uses the lens language to describe the phenomenon of death objectively and calmly, implying death through symbolic means of realistic images and life experiences, and the use of literature and art unique beyond the free imagination of the laws of physics, the creation of a blend of life and death artistic space. In addition,a series of poems created by Heaney on the theme of death have rich inner implications which embody three levels.First,by describing the images of "the victims" and "the swamp ",he outlines a cycle of violence and death that haunts the Irish people, and then makes efforts to find ways to break the cycle.Second,in his poem of mourning for his loved ones,he used memories as a source of grief, strength, and a weapon against death. In the end,Heaney puts death as one of his most important possibilitie,in the state of death to plan their own future road.Heaney's view of death can be summed up as "turning back to God,facing the earth ",and his special life experience makes him present a tendency to deliberately deviate from the view of death of Catholicism in his works, which shows that he despises the authority of Jesus as judge and does not abandon the judgment of the soul of Catholicism.Heaney sees death as a process of "physical integration into the earth ",is quiet and peaceful in his emotional attitude. In terms of value and meaning, the alternating life and death in his works formed a cycle with a double dimensions. In the level of material the body decay into the cycle of nature. In the level of spiritual the will and quality of the deceased have acquired the value of transcending death from generation to generation in the memories of the living.
