Since the Qing Dynasty,Buddhist inscription calligraphy has been classified as a type of inscription calligraphy. In the 1980 s,Mr.Wang Xue-zhong first put forward the concept of "Classic Chinese calligraphy",which made the classical calligraphy become one of the hot issues in contemporary calligraphy. The calligraphic style is a special style prevailing in the northern qi dynasty. The calligraphic style of combining script and script is different from that of the previous transitional period. The reason for this "retro style of writing" has a lot to do with the implementation of the policy of sinicization by the minority rulers and the spread of Buddhism's "last dharma thought".The buddhist carvings in the northern qi period were mainly distributed around the capital yecheng during the northern qi period, which lasted until the sui dynasty. These buddhist scriptures, inscribed on the cliffs and stone niches of the grottoes, protected the text, created a unique form of calligraphy, and embodied the popularity of top-down Buddhism in the northern qi period.Generally speaking, there was no obvious change in the lines of buddhist sutra carving calligraphy in this period, and the lines were evenly distributed and undulating gently in structure. In different times and regions, the style of buddhist carving is also different, which is closely related to the natural geographical environment and the quality of the writer's carving. The buddhist carvings in hebei region are well preserved and large in scale, which can be used for reference by later calligraphers in the calligraphy style of mixing script and script.Since the rise of visiting tablets in the Ming and qing dynasties, tablet calligraphy has attracted more and more attention from literati, especially the emergence of a large number of calligraphy works in the late qing dynasty, which promoted the importance of calligraphy forms including buddhist scriptures to a theoretical level. This paper mainly studies three representative buddhist sutra groups in hebei region, which is divided into four chapters. The first chapter introduces the concept of carvings, and the main distribution of xiangtang mountain carvings, zhonghuang mountain carvings, andbahui temple carvings in hebei province,as well as the situation of the carvings. The second chapter analyzes the reasons for the appearance of buddhist scriptures in the northern qi dynasty from the social and cultural background, the prosperity of Buddhism and the influence of the han and wei dynasties. The third chapter is mainly through the analysis of the various glyphs, and summarizes its calligraphy characteristics.According to the standard of calligraphy style and geographical location, the carving hands of different scriptures are classified. Then the longitudinal analysis of three buddhist scriptures in hebei province is carried out in the dimension of time, and the different characteristics of buddhist scriptures in different periods in hebei are summarized. Then, taking the same period as the standard, this paper makes a horizontal analysis of the buddhist scriptures in hebei, shandong and henan to highlight the common characteristics of the buddhist scriptures in hebei. The fourth chapter starts from the aspects of the evolution of characters and the re-recognition of the important resources of stele, and explains the influence of hebei region on later calligraphers and the guiding significance of contemporary calligraphic creation. The buddhist carved sutra in hebei region is well preserved and +unique in style, which is of great significance for the study of the hot topic of "sutra calligraphy".
