The excavation of Bamboo and wooden slips with Chinese,Loulan residual documents and Dunhuang manuscripts brings a new perspective for the study and creation of calligraphy.The significance of the study should not be underestimated because as an important historical material for the evolution of the font,the evolving regular script can be explored.Besides that,it also provides a variety of ideas for calligraphy creation basing on mixing with regular and official script.In the creation of modern and contemporary regular script called Kai and official script called Li,the exploration of calligraphy creation of fonts will greatly broaden the road of calligraphy art creation.This article takes Bamboo and wooden slips documents in Changsha and Hexi,Loulan residual documents and Dunhuang manuscripts as the research objects,and focuses on two key points for research and practice.Firstly,the article analyzes the above materials through macroscopic observation and microscopic analysis,taking horizontal and oblique strokes as example to understand the evolution of the Han and Jin fonts and to reveal the law of evolution of regular script.The law is that shortening writing distance is the core.Furthermore,the facility of writing and the criterion in the process are both in presence.Secondly,try to find the conversion between the characters of the stone tablets and the bamboo and wooden slips in Han dynasty,and the early and the folk classic scripts.And then,extract the features of regular scripts and bring the character of the scripts into the creation of official scripts of Li.In order to test the above results,author creates five calligraphy works,"the Evolution Map of Official and Regular Script","Couplet of Thick Soil and High Mound","Couplet of Xuanquan and Zouma","Couplet of Landscape" and "Copying Calligraphy Theory".These works bring enlightenments as following:(1)the amount and the kind of regular script elements should be added according to the content and the main tone of the whole work;(2)in the creation of the approximate six-fourth proportion of official and regular scripts,the elements of strokes should be no more than two kinds,and the font can be fully utilized in the script;(3)in the creation of the approximate three-seven proportion of official and regular scripts,the regular script factors can be fully displayed,but the thickness and the interest of the line must be expressed in the specific writing,and the writing speed should not be fast with lowering the center of gravity of the regular script construction;(4)when create of large characters,it is possible to add more than two strokes within the script because it not only shortens the stroke but makes the strokes of the large strokes less and less,and consists the momentum.The possible contributions are as following:this paper proves the law of regular script evolution in Chinese characters study,"straight law" and "anti-reverse law".Besides that it provides a theoretical basis and offers a new view for the calligraphy creation of the mix script of official and regular scripts.
