In the creation of contemporary video art, body narration is becoming increasingly crucial, which is driven by the development of technologies, changes of narrative and advance of self-media images.Through Lacan's theory on the mirror stage and identity, body narrative directly acts on the viewer's body senses, thus giving the viewer a feeling of being himself. In the creation of contemporary video art,the body, with its own unique semantics, can get rid of the traditional one-dimensional mode of narration in the viewing field after casting off the framing of text narration, and turn to the construction of the meaning of works and viewers.Through borrowing of the body semantics in the post-modern context, intuitive body narrative can all the more hit the mark.It can reveal the changes of body values in different times, ethnic groups and cultural backgrounds, reappear and make intellectual enquiries of the problems in contemporary society, and evoke the thinking of viewers through their feelings in person,so as to promote art in the construction of society.Meanwhile, body narration can surmount the language barrier and obtain the greatest communication effect in the context of globalization.Besides, the deconstruction of body narration on traditional narrative techniques endows body narration with equality, and universally provides workable methods for the solution of class differentiation through art.The author discusses the five aspects of the mirror domain—physiological senses, background reference, relevant symbolic metaphor, gender discipline and body interaction. In combination with contemporary image art works, the author puts forward a general definition of the mirror domain. At the same time,by integrating specific works, the author summarizes the methodology of body narrative creation that can be used for reference under different themes,so that such methodology serves as the basic literature to provide reference for the development of later video artists and their creation methods.
