Research On The Protection And Inheritance Of “Jangar”in Hoboksar

The Mongolian heroic epic Jangar is a work named after the hero,which consists of more than 70 independent poems with a total length of more than 100,000 lines.It is the most brilliant full-length heroic epic among the national heroic epics of Northern China.The epic "Jangar" was originated from the Oirat Mongolians in Xinjiang,and later spread to Russia,Mongolia and other countries.There is a close relationship between Hoboksar and "Jangar" because there are more singers of Jangar,many relics similar with the places mentioned in Jangar,more colltected chapters of Jangar,and the long history of inheritance and development in Hoboksar.with the globalization and modernization,the traditional culture such as "janger" is facing an unprecedented dilemma of inheritance.Therefore,the author takes the inheritance of Jiangar in Hoboksar as a case study to conduct a regional research to explore more scientific and sustainable ways for protecting intangible cultural heritage.The author has adopted the literature research,field investigation and interview,oral history research and other research methods to make a describtion,analysis and summary of this study.This will open up a new space for intangible cultural heritage to be better inherited and developed in the present society.This article is divided into three parts:The first one is the overview of Hoboksar Mongolian Autonomous County and "Jangar".The geography and history of Hoboksar and its relationship with Jangar was introduced.Meanwhile,the concept of intangible cultural heritage was clarified and how "Jangar" generates as a intangible cultural heritage was explained.The second part is about the inheritance of Jangar in Hoboksar County.Taking the foundation of People's Republic of China as the time line,the author analyzes the ways of inheritance before and after the time line.Then,The present characteristics of inheritance and protection of Jangar in Hoboksar were explored.According to the field survey and literature analysis,four main characteristics of inheritance were summarized,they are of a living state character,of oral inheritance character,of a mass character,and informative and recreational.In addition,three main characteristics of protection were summarized as well,they are government-riented,dramatic,comprehensive.The third part is about the problems of and reflections on the inheritance of Jangar in Hoboksar.According to the data and literature,the author has analyzed the problems encountered by Hoboksar in its inheritance and put forward some suggestions.
