China has already entered an aging society.The number of elderly people over 60 years of age has continued to increase,and its proportion in the total population has continued to rise.With the aging process,the working memory function of the elderly in the visual space will gradually decline,affecting their mobility and independence of life.Some studies have shown that open exercise can prevent and delay the decline of working memory function in the elderly in a certain degree.However,in the study of the effects of exercise training on visual spatial working memory,few distinguish between visual working memory and spatial working memory in visual spatial working memory.Therefore,this study explores the effect of different exercise methods on the different components of visual spatial working memory in the elderly.Participants were community healthy seniors over 60 years of age.They were divided into three groups: open exercise,closed exercise,and sedentary group using the Subject Information Questionnaire and International Physical Activity Questionnaire.The main exercise method of the open exercise group is table tennis;the main exercise method of the closed exercise group is running.We conducted three experiments.Among them,Experiments 1 and 2 studied the components of visual working memory and spatial working memory in experimental spatial working memory,and Experiment 3 studied the active control components in visual spatial working memory.The results are as follows: 1.Compared with non-exercising elderly,open exercise and closed exercise have the effect of delaying the decline of visual spatial working memory.2.Compared with closed exercise,open exercise has a greater cognitive load,and open exercise exercises are more effective in delaying the decline of working memory in visual space in the elderly.3.Among the different components of visual spatial working memory,spatial working memory is more sensitive to motor intervention in most studies.4.Open movement not only has a significant impact on the passive storage process of visual space working memory,but also has a significant effect on the active control process of visual space working memory.The research conclusions include: 1.The elderly who participated in physical exercise showed better visual spatial working memory ability than the sedentary elderly.2.The differences in the visual space work of the elderly in different sports training methods may be caused by the different cognitive load of different sports training forms.The elderly in open sports exercise have better visual spatial information ability,not only reflected in the storage capacity.,Also reflected in the ability to manipulate spatial information.3.Research shows that open exercise can not only affect activities at lower levels of visual spatial working memory,but also positively affect activities at higher levels.
