Research On Record And Narration Of The Officer Ma Wensheng

Ma Wensheng(1426-1510),naming Futu,and another name was Yuezhai.In his later years,he successively changed his name and alias as Yousong Taoist,Sanfeng Buddhist.He was born in Yuzhou,Henan Province in the middle of Ming Dynasty.In the second year of Jingtai's reign of semperor Mingdai in the Ming Dynasty(1451),he got the successful candidate in the highest imperial examinations,and have successively held the posts of Supervisory Censor and other posts,and finally held the post of Minister of War and Ministry of Personnel.Ma Wensheng was upright as an official all his life,and made his own contribution to the country and the people.His authorship in his life were mainly Record of the Western Expedition of Shicheng,Record of Pacifying Andong Barbarian,Reviving the King of Hami,Upright and Serious Memorial compiled by his posterity and others.This paper takes Ma Wensheng as the research object,and will study Ma Wensheng's Record of the Western Expedition of Shicheng,Record of Pacifying Andong Barbarian,Reviving the King of Hami and Upright and Serious Memorial,so as to explain Ma Wensheng's idea and practice of being an official more systematically.First,introduce the social background of the middle Ming Dynasty and Ma Wensheng's lifetime.Second,interpret Ma Wensheng's three records.By reading these three records,better understand Ma Wensheng's thoughts and practices in helping Xiang Zhong deal with the Mansi rebellion and pacifying the Nuzhen rebellion in Haixi,as well as the causes and consequences of his dealing with the Hami rebellion after holding the post of Minister of War,and the influence of Hami issue in the future.Interpret Ma Wensheng's Upright and Serious Memorial.According to the classification of different types of Upright and Serious Memorial,interpret Ma Wensheng's practices and measures in military preparation,official assessment and people's livelihood.Finally,evaluate Ma Wensheng's whole life.Realize that Ma Wensheng,as an important official in Hongzhi period,was loved by the people because of his contribution in military affairs,official governance and people's livelihood.As a feudalism official,although the ultimate purpose of Ma Wensheng was to maintain the rule of the Ming Dynasty,his measures as officer were to maintain thestability of the country,and hope to make people's lives more stable,so he was a historical figure that should be affirmed.
