This article will analyze Henri Matisse's important painting works during and after the mature period,combining his growing experience and artistic thoughts,and summarize the main characteristics of his oil painting and flower works.In particular,after being influenced by African folk art and Chinese calligraphy art,his style of painting changed from rough and unrestrained to refined and quiet.In the process of writing the thesis,the author fully understands the artistic career and creative process of Matisse,and looks up relevant literature materials,interprets the classic theories of scholars at home and abroad,and the artist's original words.On the basis of literature review,image analysis,contrast,summary and other research methods,Matisse's flower works are studied in multiple perspectives and depth.Therefore,it is concluded that Chumadisi's oil painting flower performance has two major characteristics: concise and simple language and contradictory and unified style.And from these two perspectives to explore the characteristics of flowers in Matisse oil painting.Firstly,from the three aspects of the purification of color,the weakening of the hierarchy and the simplification of lines,the paper analyzes and proves the refinement and simplicity of the painting language.Then he analyzes his contradictory and unified painting style from three aspects: the contrast and harmony of color,the subtlety between like and like,and the artfulness of brushstrokes.From this analysis,how he refined and selected flowers,thus forming a simple,relaxed,elegant art style.Finally,the author summarizes the expression method used in Matisse flower performance,Matisse's painting thoughts and oil painting techniques can be used for reference to the author's oil painting flower creation,and applies the experience gained to his own creation.
