The Influence Of Female Face Attractiveness And Fair Level On The Third-party Punishment Of College Students Of Different Genders

Third-Party Punishment refers to the behavioral process in which non-interested bystanders who punish the offender at the expense of personal interests in order to make their behavior conform to the norm.In the Dictator Game,the distributor and the recipient are distributed with a certain amount of tokens.The distributor has the right of distribution,and the recipient cannot refuse the proposal of distribution.The third party,after witnessing the process,decides whether to punish the distributor.The level of fairness is a key factor in the occurrence of third-party punishment.Face attractiveness show the emotional experience of the happiness and the degree to which draw or isolate others which induced by the target's face features.People prefer highly attractive individuals in cooperation,mate selection,job hunting and other fields.Does this preference also exist in third-party punishment? Previous research has shown that female faces seem to have higher reward values than male faces.Therefore,in this study,three experiments were used to explore the influence of women face attractiveness on the third party punishment behavior of individuals of different genders under three conditions: the face of the female distributor,the face of the female recipient and the face of the female distributor and the face of the recipient in the dictator game.Experiment 1 uses 3(distributor face attraction level: high attractive,medium attractive,low attractive)×5(distribution plan: 90/10,80/20,70/30,40/60,50/50)×2(third-party gender: male,female)three-factor mixed experiment design,in which the distributor's face attractiveness level and distribution plan are the internal variables of the subject,the third-party gender is the inter-group variable,and the dependent variable is the third-party female distribution.The fair perception of the distribution and the amount of income reduced by the distributor.On the basis of Experiment 1,Experiment 2 explores the influence of the level of attractiveness of female recipients' faces and the fairness of distribution schemes on third-party fair perception and punishment decisions of different genders.Experiment 2uses 3(recipient's face attractiveness level: high attractiveness,medium attractiveness,low attractiveness)×5(distribution plan: 90/10,80/20,70/30,40/60,50/50)×2(third-party gender: male,female)three-factor mixed experiment design,in which the recipient's face attractiveness level and distribution plan are the internal variables of the subject,the third-party gender is the inter-group variable,and the dependent variable is assigned by the third party.Fair perception and reduction of the amount of income from the distributor.Based on the first two experiments,Experiment 3 further explores the different types of face-attractive pairings of female distributors and female recipients,and the impact of fairness of distribution schemes on third-party fair perception and punishment decisions.Experiment 3 uses 4(face attractive pairing type: low attraction of the distributor-low attraction of the recipient,low attraction of the distributor-high attraction of the recipient,high attraction of the distributor-low attraction of the recipient,high distributor Attractive-recipient high attractive)×5(distribution plan: 90/10,80/20,70/30,40/60,50/50)×2(third-party gender: male,female)three-factor mixture In the experimental design,the face attractive pairing type and allocation scheme are the internal variables of the subject,the third-party gender is the inter-subject variable,and the dependent variable is the fair perception of the distributor as a third party to the distributor and the amount of the reduced distributor.Through the above experiments,it is found that:(1)the third party's perception of fairness and willingness to punish will be affected by the attractiveness of the face of the female distributor.Third party fairness perceptions and punish intention will also be affected by female recipients face attractive,third party think that under the condition of high attractive female recipient distributor distributive fairness level was significantly lower than the low attractive female recipient conditions,under the condition of the distributor of the punishment will significantly higher than low attractive female recipient conditions;Third party fairness perceptions and punish willingness will be affected by attractive women distributor with the recipient faces pairings,the influence of the third party think women distributor low attraction-the recipient high appeal under the matching type of distributor distributive fairness levelwas significantly lower than the low women distributor high attraction-the recipient attractive pairings conditions,and under the condition of the distributor of the punishment will over distributor high-the recipient low attractive conditions;(2)the third party's perception of fairness and willingness to punish will be affected by different distribution schemes.The third party believes that the distribution with a high level of injustice is more unfair than that with a low level of injustice,and it has a higher willingness to punish the distributor.(3)the third party fairness perceptions and punish willingness will be affected by gender and distributor faces the attractive interactions,male participants think highly attractive women than low distributor the distribution of the attractive women distributor fairer,and the punishment for high attractive women distributor will also lower,while female subjects fairness perceptions and punishment will not change.
