The traditional agriculture-based society relies heavily on water resources,and the ownership of water resources belongs to the state.Therefore,the right to use has become the key to people's production and life.The social history of water conservancy is a history of studying the relationship between water conservancy and society.The core issue of a water conservancy society is the issue of water rights.The essence of a series of issues such as water organization,water economy,water beliefs,and water customs is based on the acquisition of water rights.Therefore,understanding the uniqueness of Huozhou's water conservancy society from the perspective of water rights,and grasping the people's living conditions during social changes,will further enrich our understanding of the changing regional society.This article intends to use Huozhou as a case study of the development and changes of its water conservancy society from the Ming to Qing Dynasty to the Republic of China.Starting from the overall situation of water shortage in Huozhou society,it will focus on the“Fourty Mile Rice Grain River” along the banks of Huozhou Laoshui.The water conservancy social form of water shortage areas such as Tao Tangyu and other water scarce areas.Through comparative research,the impact of water resources on the social development of Huozhou region and its differences from surrounding areas are clarified.Regional conflicts and cooperation with water rights as the core in the study of water conservancy society is an important clue that runs through the development of traditional society.It understands the contradictions in the water conservancy society and the mechanism for solving them,and it has a meaning for the people's production,political and cultural life at that time.A more comprehensive understanding will help us understand the relationship between people in the changing water conservancy society,and it will be of great significance for us to understand thechanges and invariance in social development.Based on the existing research,the author attempts to supplement the research of regional water conservancy social history from the perspective of water rights.According to the unique water resource categories of Huozhou,the water resource use types,water disputes and adjustments,water beliefs and legends We will explore other issues,explore the water conservancy social practice of a small water conservancy community in the study of the history of water conservancy society,and clarify the life forms of the people in the regions where Koizumi and Kosui are numerous,with a view to benefiting our current rural social construction.
