The Synchronic Study On The Members Of The Conceptual Domain Of "Cut" In Shanxi Wanrong Dialect

Cutting is a very important and common behavior in people's productive labor and daily life.We call it “the conceptual domain of cut” when we express the concept of separating objects with tools such as knives.Basing on the theory of conceptual field,taking the members of the conceptual domain of “cut” in Wanrong dialect as the research object,through the fieldwork,using the method of conceptual elements analysis and the method of comparative analysis,this paper studies its synchronic performance in Wanrong dialect systematically and microscopically,aiming to reveal the characteristics of vocabulary in Wanrong dialect and its internal differences.First of all,depending on the differences of the way of the action and the tool of the action,divide the conceptual domain of “cut” into six sub-conceptual domains “slice” “cut” “saw” “chop” “shear” and “peel”.Using the method of conceptual elements analysis,describe the conceptual structure of the members of the six sub-conceptual domains,make an analysis on the meanings of the members in depth and in detail,discuss the differences of the sememe when express the same concept,at the same time,the status of the members of the six sub-conceptual domains is unequal,some are the typical members and the others are the atypical members.Secondly,analyze the semantic change of the archaisms in the concept domain of “cut” in Wanrong dialect.Thirdly,compare the differences about the members of the conceptual domain of “cut” in the different survey points in the phonetics and the semantics.In the end,draw an conclusion that the conceptual domain of “cut” in Wanrong dialect has many members.Monosyllables are the main words,and nearly half of them are the characters with entering tone.It has many ancient Chinese compositions and reflects the distinct regional characteristics.The members own higher semantic subdivision and they are independent and parallel to each other,which retains the comprehensive characteristics of Chinese vocabulary.There still exist differences in the interior of the dialect of the west of the county and the dialect of the east of the county.
