The ecological crisis is becoming more and more serious, and environmental pollution is threatening the future survival and development of mankind. With the rapid development of modern science and technology, human beings have the "power" to destroy our living environment. This requires us to look at and deal with the relationship between human beings and nature more reasonably and seek their harmonious symbiosis.British atmospheric scientist James Lovelock put forward an important theoretical form of ecology, the Gaia hypothesis, and constructed a new "image" of the earth from the dimension of "life".This theoretical form provides us with a new perspective on how to understand the epistemological dimension and how to deal with the relationship between human beings and Mother Earth Gaia in the ethical dimension.Whether the relationship between human beings and living Gaia will become the abscess in Nietzsche's mouth is the core of this paper. The difference between Gaia and Nature is the logical premise of the thesis. In the traditional sense, nature is regarded as a "mechanical combination" of living and abiotic "composition",which does not have the life characteristics in the whole sense, whereas the Gaia hypothesis regards the whole of various elements as a living "super organism".It has the characteristic of "life" which does not depend on human subjective will.Driven by the Gaia hypothesis, the relationship between man and the inanimate, mechanical nature translates into a relationship between man and the living, generated Gaia. This requires that human beings can no longer wanton destruction, slaughtering nature that Gaia, otherwise she may be for the safety of their own large life organism, the human "abscess."Analyzing the evolution of the relationship between human beings and Gaia from the historical dimension is the main way for us to accurately grasp the logical relationship between them.In ancient Greece, nature was thought to be in motion and change, and the limitation of cognitive ability led to the inability of human beings to understand it accurately."worship of Gaia" naturally became the main manifestation of the relationship between the two;in the Middle Ages,The view of nature of religious theology occupies the dominant position, the human being as God's "creation",spokesman, from the worship of ancient Greece to "manage Gaia";in modern times,Descartes,Newton's mechanical view of nature occupies the dominant position,Regarding nature as a mechanical object that man can wantonly control,"plunder Gaia" became the main characteristic of this period. So far in the 20 th century, there have been two kinds of evolutionary tendencies: the conflict between man and Gaia escalated, the ecological crisis intensified. At the same time, the harmony and symbiosis between the two has increasingly become the goal of human pursuit.Today, the relationship between human beings and Gaia is at a crossroads, which depends more on the choice of human subjects. The ethical dimension, the relationship between human beings and Gaia is one of the core contents of the thesis.Living Gaia forms a self-organizing control system, and what she does is given the necessary feedback. We should treat Gaia like life, not as a mechanical,"dead" object.Current problems such as excessive carbon dioxide emissions and nuclear pollution caused by human activities are threatening and destroying Gaia's regulatory system. If the damage is further aggravated,Gaia may eliminate human beings for her own survival. There are only two options ahead of us: the continued destruction of the ecological environment and the expulsion of Gaia;respect for nature and kindness to Gaia, and human beings will coexist with Gaia.We should gradually realize the harmonious symbiosis between human beings and Gaia through the construction of ecological civilization.Human beings must always be alert and reflect on their behavior. We can't really hurt Gaia, the big living thing.Without human beings, she can still live in good health. We can only destroy the human environment on earth. The ultimate destruction of mankind itself.Treating Gaia with reverence for life is perhaps the wisest and most reasonable choice for mankind.
