Albert Schweitzer is a French thinker who took a leading role in the Reverence for Life Ethics. The connotation the reverence for life, the standards of judgments whether for good or for bad, and the rights, dignity and value of human and natural life for the world which were put by Albert Schweitzer had a deeply influence. At the same time, they have aroused the hot debate and become the important studies of ecology ethics.Firstly, this article explains the process of the Reverence for Life Ethics. .According to the individual life of Schweitzer and social background, the formation of ethics there are three major factors of the formation on the Reverence for Life Ethics: under the influence of God’s will and the spirit of universal fraternity, the young Schweitzer had a certain sensitive religious and ethical feeling; his fear of ethics inherits the European philosophy tradition, and absorbs the ethics thought of China and India, also points that all lives are the precepts of a Buddhist; His criticism towards the western material culture and reflection towards the war, culture and philosophy are the key parts of the Reverence for Life Ethics. Secondly, the Reverence for Life Ethics concludes three aspects, namely, the properties, the judgment standards and the morals:the Reverence for Life includes both the human life and the wild life. He suggested the ontology principles of moral life and emphasized a new Ethics which was different from the past Relationship Ethics. In the history of Western Ethics, different Ethics has different standards for good or bad, and he thought goodness could preserve and improve life, and help the life achieve the highest value. Wickedness may destroy life and hold back the development of life. This is a necessary, universal, absolute truth.“Reverence for Life”aims to achieve progress and create various value which is good for personal and human material and spirit, ethic. Its moral aim not only is to adjust the relationship between human beings and with other life but also the inner integrate of the moral of human being. Finally, according to the value and influence of the Reverence for Life Ethics, this paper discusses how to avoid traditional discrimination which takes the human being central, and offers a identify of equality to all the creatures, thus to transcend the transitional bias and achieve the transformation from the modern countries to the ethic, moral, characteristic cultural ones. He also thought that there was a higher goal that is humane, love, sympathy, while not only to avoid persecuting them. And then this paper relates the historic limitations from the unequal treats in different creatures and“Unselfishness is benefit for all the life and its means are nonjuring others”.
