A Research Of Chinese Prehistoric Jade Slotted Ring

Jade slotted ring originated in Northeast China about 8000 years ago.It is also one of the earliest jades in China.It has a long duration and wide distribution,and plays an important role in the development of human adornment.This thesis makes comprehensive statistics on the published materials of Chinese prehistoric slotted ring by region.Based on the research of typology,this thesis divide into different period for the first time,and further analyzes the dissemination of them.Through combing the relevant situations of the unearthed slotted ring in the prehistoric tombs,combining the unearthed location and the combination of utensils,this paper discusses the function and use of them in neolithic age.This thesis is composed of four chapters.Chapter 1 is divided into 4 parts: Northern China,the lower reaches of the Yangtze River,the middle reaches of the Yangtze River,Southeast and South China.And sorting out the published materials of Chinese prehistoric slotted ring ornaments.Chapter 2 is a typological analysis of China's prehistoric slotted ring,And divided into three periods: early,middle and late.Based on the space-time distribution of them,the issue of the propagation path of them is discussed.Chapter 3 is mainly discusses the production technology of the prehistoric slotted ring,using the analysis of "operation chain" by stone tools,and analyzes the three stages of raw material preparation,production and maintenance of slotted ring.Chapter 4 is is about statistics of prehistoric slotted ring in tombs unearthed,and explores its functions.In the last part of the thesis,the author gives a brief review of the use of slotted ring in the late Neolithic and later historical periods.
