The belt hook is not only a daily tool to bear the function of tie and wear, but also a work of art jointly created by a variety of materials and decorations.Since the middle of The Spring and Autumn period,it has been found in many tombs around the world, providing a unique way to understand the clothing culture and social customs at that time. The belt hook was most popular in the Eastern Zhou Dynasty, the Qin and the Han dynasties, and gradually disappeared from the stage of history after the Wei and Jin dynasties. The Eastern Zhou Dynasty was the period when the belt hook was developed to prosperity.During this period, the Chu became increasingly powerful and eventually occupied more than half of the south. The tombs of the Chu Dynasty were found in the provinces of Hubei,Hunan,Henan and Anhui. Therefore,it is particularly important to study the belt hook unearthed from the tomb of Chu by archaeological methods, and to analyze and summarize the characteristics of Chu style belt hook and the relevant culture, which can also provide great help for us to study the Chu culture or the whole Eastern Zhou social culture. This paper takes the belt hook unearthed from the tomb of the Chu dynasty as the research object, which consists of three parts. The first part of the introduction consists of two sections. One section explains the reason for selecting the topic and the purpose of the research, while clarifying the research object and scope. The other section is a summary, mainly introducing the current situation and shortcomings of belt hook research in the academic world. The secend parts are the key chapters of this paper. On the existing belt hook classification method, mainly based on the shape and system of the belt hook, the belt hook unearthed from the tomb of the Chu dynasty is divided into 14 types, and each type has subtypes and pattern specific division, and describes the types of belt hook of different materials. On the basis of classification, this paper discusses the stages and development of the belt hook in the tomb of Chu,including the initial stage in the late Spring and Autumn period, the development stage in the early Warring states period, the popularization stage in the middle Warring states period, and the interruption stage in the late Warring states period. Finally, the third chapter focuses on the culture of the belt hooks in the tombs of the Chu dynasty.First of all, based on the location and co-existence of the belt hooks from the tombsof Chu,it can be concluded that the belt hooks mainly have two functions, namely, wearing objects and tying belts. In addition, there are few examples of tying belts, and the clothing features of the wood figurines of Chu are also rarely tied belts with hooks. Therefore,it is speculated that the belt hooks in Chu are mainly used for hanging, rather than tying belts. The second, based on the differences of the belt hooks unearthed in different levels of tombs,it is concluded that the users of the belt hooks in the Chu region include the ranks of Shi and above, and the number and fineness of the belt hooks are positively correlated with the burial levels. Finally, the paper analyzes the jade belt hook, gold and silver inlaid bronze belt hook and silver belt hook that unearthed the most from the tomb of high-level Chu.The fifth part is a summary of the gains and regrets of the paper.
