Research On Gao Ping's Piano Solo Creation

Gao Ping,a famous contemporary composer and pianist in China,was born in Chengdu,Sichuan Province in 1970.He was influenced by the music of his parents from childhood and showed his musical talent from an early age.He studied abroad in the United States in 1990 and returned to China in 2012 to teach as the director of Composition Major at the Capital Normal University.Gao Ping is a representative and important figure in the development process of piano music in modern and contemporary China,and his musical creation was unconsciously influenced by the edification of multi-culture.Gao Ping's piano solo is unique,with distinctive work features and international visions.The creation of Gao Ping's piano solo keeps on developing on the basis of traditional innovation,thus making his piano works have continuously new ideas and pleasant dripping.Gao Ping has diversified piano works styles and musical forms.He has piano works not only with strong Chinese national style,but also with the combination of western art music and national music.Piano works with modernist school are the style of his continuous creation,and there is also a new piano creation form created by himself,namely playing and singing works,which integrate piano with poetry.It was the prolific period of Gao Ping's piano music creation from 1999 to 2015,and this stage also showed how he changed from a pianist to a composer.The number of his musical works,wide range of musical forms involved and increasing number of performances he was appointed at the international music festivals have left a deep impression on me.This paper takes the "research on Gao Ping's piano solo creation" as the subject,and analyzes 9 piano solos created by Gao Ping the Gao Ping during the sixteen years from 1999 to 2015.Through research and reflection on individual learning experiences,piano solo creation background,composition skills and artistic characteristics of composer,this paper makes me have a clear and definite thought on Gao Ping's piano solo creation.This paper is divided into three chapters.The first chapter discusses the basic situation of Gao Ping and his musical works,and classifies and sorts out his piano solo works.The second chapter is the study on his creation skills of piano solo,and carries on analysis and study of skills used by Gao Ping in his piano solos from perspectives of musical form structure,melody,rhythm and beat,as well as harmonic technique and so on.The third chapter is the discussion of Gao Ping's artistic characteristics.It analyzes and summarizes the transformation of his composition ideas,characteristics of his musical language and the aesthetic connotation of his works.Through interviewing with Gao Ping and reading articles about him,the author attempts to understand the overall creation idea from a macroscopic perspective,so as to further explore the creative style of Gao Ping's piano solos and profound connotation of his works,Based on the multiple perspectives,the author deeply analyzes his thoughts,feelings and aesthetic value in his musical works,and tries to show Gao Ping's ideas and opinions on music creation and thought from many angles,which is helpful to further expand the study of his piano music creation from the perspective of musicology and make up for this deficiency.Through the research and writing of this topic,the author tries to have a comprehensive demonstration of Gao Ping's piano solo creation."The Interview Record of Composer GaoPing" will be attached at the end of this paper,which will provide a real and comprehensive data basis for the research of this paper and the in-depth research and analysis of Gao Ping's piano solos,and lay a solid exploration path for the subsequent research of other researchers on his personal and musical creation.
