Exploration Of The Effect Of Nostalgia On Loneliness

Nostalgia is an individual's desire for the past.In nostalgic reverie,a person will remember some things that happened in the past,which are meaningful to the individual.Individuals may wear rose-colored filters to reminisce about the people and things of that time,and may even want to go back to the past.The trigger mechanism of nostalgia includes negative emotional experience,such as loneliness to be discussed in this article.However,based on the theory of emotional restoration,nostalgia is actually a filtered past after unhappiness is eliminated.In such a restoration process,negative emotions existing in individuals will be deleted.Therefore,whether the process of nostalgia can relieve the loneliness of individuals and produce beneficial help to life will be studied in this paper,thus providing certain theoretical support for the current nostalgia therapy.However,from another point of view,if nostalgia exists as a repair method in daily life,should it be called a healthy repair method,and whether individuals will often meditate on the past due to inertia,thus producing the opposite effect,which is also an aspect confusing researchers.Therefore,it is necessary to carry out separate research on nostalgic idiosyncratic tendencies and states.Taking the post-90 s generation,who have strong desire to express their personality,as the research object,the relationship between nostalgic idiosyncratic tendencies and loneliness,and the relationship between nostalgic priming states and loneliness are comprehensively studied by means of questionnaire survey and situational priming experiments.The study will be divided into three parts and four studies will be conducted.In the first part of the study,firstly,the nostalgia scale was revised,and the revised scale met the psychological requirements.Using therevised scale,the nostalgic characteristics of the post-90 s generation were analyzed and discussed.At the same time,it studies the influence and direction of nostalgia on loneliness when it is a personal trait.The second part includes study 2 and study 3.Study 2 uses the nostalgic text to initiate the nostalgia of the individual at the subjective level through the method of situational experiment.Through comparison with the control group,the positive or negative emotional state and active state nostalgia generated after the start-up are analyzed to influence the individual's loneliness.Study 3 is a further study of Study 2 scenario experiments,to explore the effects and differences of starting active level nostalgia on individuals with different nostalgic traits,and to explore the interactive effects of traits and active state nostalgia on the degree of loneliness relief.In the third part,the fourth part studies the activation of sensory channels for individual passive nostalgia through situational experiments on the objective level,and analyzes the influence and interaction of different groups of nostalgia and sensory channels on loneliness.To explore the individual's different effects on loneliness under the four starting conditions of auditory nostalgia,auditory non-nostalgia,audio-visual nostalgia and audio-visual non-nostalgia,and to provide further theoretical basis and treatment methods for nostalgia treatment.The analysis results discussed in this paper are as follows:(1)Nostalgia is widespread in the post-90 s group.At the same time,when nostalgia is a personal trait,the relationship with loneliness is positively related,but there is no related relationship in belief nostalgia.(2)On the subjective level,when starting nostalgia,the starting effect is significant,and it is found that starting active nostalgia can reduce the individual's loneliness.Further interactive analysis of individual high and low nostalgia traits and high and low state nostalgia reveals that the activation of state nostalgia is more likely to occur for those individualswith high quality nostalgia,and the group with high quality and high state nostalgia benefits the most in relieving loneliness.(3)On the objective level,the nostalgic group combined with audio-visual channels has the most significant positive effect on loneliness,and the interaction between groups and sensory channels is not significant,through the contrast activation of individual auditory and audio-visual sensory channels for nostalgic group and non-nostalgic group.The results of the four studies in the above three parts enrich the theory of emotional repair,interpersonal interaction and continuity,and provide further theoretical support and treatment options for nostalgic treatment.In clinical treatment,treatment can be carried out through a combination of subjective and objective,so as to better reduce the negative and negative emotional experiences of treatment participants and ease loneliness,thereby increasing individual psychological well-being and life satisfaction sense.
