A Correlational Research Of College Students’ Nostalgia And Loneliness

Nostalgia，a sentimental longing for the past，is a self-relevant and social regularemotion.In this study the characteristics and influencing factors on the concept of thecollege students，it not only enrich the theoretical study of nostalgia，but also provide anew intervention approach for college students reduce the level of loneliness.This research mainly divided into into four parts：firstly，reading the nostalgiaresearch，analysis the theory of previous article structure，through the literature reviewand produced in this study college students’ nostalgia questionnaire theory dimensionand the topic，after prediction questionnaire，analysis，finally ensured the items of theformal questionnaire.Then investigated and analyzed800college students， tounderstand the nostalgia status and the feature of the nostalgia from the gender，grade，majors，whether or not the only child，from rural areas or urban areas.Secondly，thestudy also discussed the relationship of nostalgia and loneliness of college students.The results were as follows：（1）According with the requirement of psychometric，the college students’nostalgia questionnaire reliability and validity is good enough.The questionnaireincluded three dimensions：interpersonal nostalgia，cognitive nostalgia，event nostalgia.（2）In different grades，whether or not the only child，from rural areas or urbanareas of college students in nostalgia on significant difference.And in different genders，majors，from local or other places of college students in nostalgia does not existsignificant difference.（3）Overall，college students’ nostalgia was positively associated with loneliness.（4）Intervention experiment found，through nostalgia，increased perception ofsocial support，established social connection，in turn，reduced loneliness.
