After the rise of Macedonia,it defeated the Greek coalition forces such as Athens and Thebes in the Battle of Caronia in 338 BC,and held an alliance conference in Corinth in 337 BC to establish the Corinth Alliance. The Collins Alliance is a political military alliance, not a cultural or religious alliance. However, under this alliance, there is a problem of cultural identity, that is,the Greeks' views on the Macedonian ethnicity and culture, the evaluation of the cultural superiority of Greece itself, and the Persian barbarians. It can be confirmed that during the Corinth League, the Greek identity realized a shift from "opposition" to "aggregation".The former is to define itself from the outside, that is,to realize self-identification by constructing a different identity of the barbarians, and the latter is to define itself from the inside, that is,to integrate different tribes into the same ethnic group through universal recognition of Greek culture. On the basis of studying the relevant speeches and correspondences of Isocrates,Eskines,Demosthenes, and Alexander, this article comprehensively explores the Greek culture of the Collins League from 337 to 322 BC through the research path of historical document analysis. The identification situation further reveals its foundational significance for the Greek cultural identity and preservation in Hellenistic and Roman times.Through research, this article believes that the Collins Alliance is not a Macedonian empire, but a military alliance under the leadership of Macedonian hegemony. This alliance was organized under Macedonian hegemony.Because the alliance is mainly composed of Greeks, internal issues naturally involve related issues related to Greek cultural identity.During the time of Philip II(including before Alexander's Eastern Expedition),the Corinthian Alliance, whether for the needs of the Greeks ' self-identification or political considerations, clearly constituted the“barbarians”in the common interests of the Greeks and the Macedonians, and ethnic identity The characteristics can be summarized as "opposite".However,as Alexander's land requisition moved forward,Alexander himself gradually realized that to ensure the fruits of the conquest,he must overcome the traditional prejudice of“Hippo opposition” and achieve a consistent cultural identity."tendency.This article mainly includes introduction, five chapters, conclusion and appendix. The first chapter focuses on the establishment of the Collins Alliance and its nature. The second chapter analyzes the perspectives of different Athenian politicians, identifying the Athenian elite's understanding of Greek sexual standards, and the views of other city-states.The third chapter mainly discusses the destruction of Thebes by Macedonia by the hand of the Collins League. This part involves the founders of Thebes from the East, the betrayal of Thebes during the Hippo War,and the rebellion of Thebes in the Collins League. The fourth chapter discusses the reaction of the Greeks in the Eastern Expedition and the Greeks staying in the Greek mainland, especially the reaction of Athens.
