David Hockney’s IPad Art And My Creation

David Hockney is a famous western contemporary artist.He created a series of outstanding works of art by using various artistic languages and a wide range of mediums.This article focuses on the analysis of Hockney’s digital paintings that primarily created on iPad.The second chapter summarizes the basic concepts and characteristics of digital painting.The third chapter gives a systematic study of the “David Hockney-style" iPad painting.From artistic theme,image composition,color language,to formality characteristics,this paper analyzes the style of iPad painting and provides a theoretical basis for author’s own artistic creation.The fourth chapter summarizes the alternative inspiration and Hockney’s impact on author’s artworks from three perspectives: still life paintings,landscape paintings,and figure paintings.Chapter Five discusses author’s critical thinking on iPad art creation,analyzing the advantages and disadvantages of iPad painting and the development of iPad painting in the future.In conclusion,this article intends to study the impact of modern media and digital tool for art creation from analyzing Hockney’s artworks,to understand the cultural context and significance of iPad paintings that becomes the inspiration of a new and authentic language for the author’s own art.
