This paper takes Holboo performance by Odhonbayar,who is a famous rap artist from Arhorqin,as an example to discuss the oral and improvisational performance of Mongolian rap music,which also discusses the generation process and law of artists and their art,further explores what constitutes the personal style of artists and further expands the field of research and thinking from the perspective of ethnomusicology,folklore,linguistics,folk literature,oral formula and other disciplines and methodology by placing the research object in the folk life environment and focusing on performance.The study of oral music is of great significance not only to the understanding of the essence of the art of Mongolian traditional music,but also to the understanding of the artistic thinking of the predecessors who created these artistic forms.The main contents of this paper are as follows:(1)On oral music tradition and improvisation through the cases of Otgenbayar;(2)the general situation of oral music texts of urguga holboo and the form of inheritance;(3)the relationship between the words and the structure of urguga holboo;(4)to expound the characteristics of the improvisation,to summarize the procedures applied and observe the construction mode of oral music in the performance;(5)through the analysis of Odhonbayar's personal experience,to explain his learning context and role generation process.
