Under the guidance of feminist translation theory,this report excerpts The Complete Prose of Marianne Moore by American feminist writer Marianne Moore as the source text.As a collection of literary criticism,multi-faceted comments on the female themes and the new female image have been conducted by its author who has also been considered one of the greatest female poetic voices in modern America.However,the studies on this collection still remain insufficient in China,especially from the perspectives of feminism and translation and there is yet no Chinese version for this collection.Therefore,the translator applies the supplementary and hijacking strategies of feminist translation to the translation of this feminist works,so as to highlight the independent consciousness of woman and the new woman image in the original text.This report consists of an overall introduction,the process of translation and the case analysis.In the case of the original text with rich feminism,the translator makes an in-depth analysis of the translation from two aspects: highlighting of female consciousness and mold of female subject image.In order to highlight the female independent consciousness,the translator employs addition of female discourse symbols,modal particles and adverbs;while to mold female subject image by the strategy of hijacking,the application of creative treason is used to alternate the original sentence structure and emphasize words concerning new woman status so as to highlight female consciousness and construct female identity in the translation.Through innovative attempts at translation materials and research perspectives,the translator finds out feminist translation can be seen as a feasible and helpful way to handle the texts with feminist style and characteristics.the translator does expect that this report is of certain new significance for related translation practice in the future.
