"Bitter melon monk painting quotations" is the concentrated reflection of Shi Tao's artistic theory,It contains his understanding and feelings of art then tested and enriched in his long-term practice of art."Painting Quotations" is divided into eighteen chapters,It's a complete art theory system.This article takes the theory of "one painting" as a starting point,briefly combs the background of Shi Tao and his artistic life,and briefly expounds Shi Tao 's positive thoughts of meeting the emperor twice and his life choice of becoming a taoist instead of a buddhist in his later years.There are direct connections between Shi Tao 's " one painting"theory and the background of the time.At the end of the Ming Dynasty,the budding of capitalism stimulated the emergence of humanism,during then thoughts,culture and art reached a peak of liberation.The painting art of orthodox school advocated the thought of antique in the early Qing Dynasty,and the social environment of Yangzhou where Shi Tao stayed was comparatively more free.These two aspects provided a favorable factor for Shi Tao 's " one painting" aesthetic thought condition.After that,the author analyzes the origin of the theory of " one painting" and summarizes the influence of Taoism made on Shi Tao 's theory.Finally he analyzed the aesthetic ideology of "one painting" theory.From the creation practice to the inheritance and development of the "one painting" theory,he expatiates the value and significance of " one painting" to the contemporary art.Art is evolving by the development of the times.The interpretation of " one painting"theory should also keep up with the times.The thoughts in it has a warning effect on contemporary art creation.Art creation should not be a reproduction of one thing,The most valuable thing is the aesthetic creation emanating from the artist's heart.Apply it on the current aesthetic orientation of Chinese painting," realism" occupies a dominant position,"freehand" is less important.But as the representative of the spirit of Chinese painting,"freehand" is still the best embodiment of the essence of Chinese art,it is the best way to reach a high degree by using art to sustenance the spirit.In brief,through the analysis and research of Shi Tao 's quotations,thinking in the way and angle of freehand spirit and paying attention to nature 's " good fortune" in Chinese traditional painting,is enlightening to the present painting creation.
