Writing is an important indicator to test a person's language ability.For junior high school students,it is very important to master writing skills,which is not only the requirement of the new curriculum standard and senior high school entrance examination,but also the requirement of the society.However,the current situation of junior high school English writing teaching in China is not satisfactory.Most students are not interested in English writing,and some even feel scared.They have no confidence in improving their English writing ability.Mainly reflected in the language content,thinking framework and language organization.In order to improve the current writing situation,the author has made an understanding of previous researches on the application of brainstorming method in English writing teaching,and based on constructivism and output hypothesis,through necessary theoretical analysis and empirical research,has verified that brainstorming method is conducive to improving students' English writing ability and their attitude towards English writing.According to the current situation of junior high school English writing teaching and the problems encountered by students in writing,the author raises the following research questions:(1)What are the effects of brainstorming on students' English writing ability?(2)What are the changes of students' attitudes towards English writing after the application of Brainstorming method?This study takes 80 junior high school students from Anqiu College Middle School as the research object.Before the formal experiment,the English writing level of the two classes was basically the same.In the three-month experiment,theexperimental class adopts the brainstorming method while the control class will continue to use the traditional writing method.After the experiment,all data were collected in time and analyzed.In order to obtain more reliable experimental data and results,this experiment uses tools such as tests,questionnaires and interviews.Through the test,the changes of students' English writing ability before and after the experiment are understood,and the changes of students' English writing attitude are understood through questionnaires and interviews.The experimental results show that:(1)Brainstorming can improve students' English writing ability,including content,organization,language,vocabulary and Mechanics;(2)Brainstorming plays a positive role in changing students' attitudes towards English writing.
