| Listening,speaking,reading,and writing are the basic skills to master for middle school students.Writing is the most difficult for students.The improvement of writing ability and the development of writing habits are crucial in foreign language teaching for middle school students.In the current English classroom,teacher-centered and result-oriented classrooms are still the focus.In the implementation of English courses,the transformation from knowledge to ability,from scattered knowledge to integrated application is gradually carried out.As an activity that can highly integrate language knowledge,learning strategies,cultural awareness,thinking ability,etc.-writing teaching has become an irreplaceable teaching approach.And as the importance of English is becoming more and more prominent today,the English writing ability of middle school students is particularly important,and the acceptance of middle school students is generally low.At this stage,how to effectively improve students’ writing ability has become one of the important topics.The application of the effective task-based teaching method in the writing teaching process is a subject worthy of further exploration.Based on the language proficiency and cognitive characteristics of junior high school English learners and the basic principles of task-based teaching,this research attempts to explore whether task-based writing teaching improves learners’ writing attitude and writing ability by constructing and implementing task-based writing teaching.This research takes 88 students in the first and third classes of the third grade of junior high school in W city as the research object.The research methods of this study are testing method,questionnaire survey method,and interview method.The research question is: research question one is what impact does the task-based teaching method have on the subjects’ writing attitude? The second research question is what impact does the task-based approach have on the writing ability of the subjects?After an eight-week experiment,the following conclusions were drawn: First,the implementation of the task-based teaching method positively affected the subjects’ writing attitude.By analyzing the results of the writing attitude questionnaire of the experimental class,it is concluded that after the experiment,the experimental class’ s three dimensions of writing interest,writing motivation,and writing confidence are significantly higher than those before the experiment.Second,the implementation of task-based teaching method improves the writing ability of the subjects.After eight weeks of experimental teaching,the researcher conducted post-experimental tests on the subjects.After the post-test,descriptive analysis was done using SPSS data analysis software,independent sample T test and paired sample T test.It can be seen that the writing ability after the experimental class is significantly higher than the writing ability before.Participants in the experimental class improved in three aspects: the accuracy of writing function words,the standardization of sentences,and the completeness of the text.Among them,the change in sentence standardization was the most significant. |
