Under the background of teaching reform,the Ministry of Education advocated that English teaching in our country should transform its way from the traditional creaming one to a student-centered one.English class should be interesting and focus on students' language use ability,especially for the primary school and junior high school.It stressed that for young children it's better to design authenticity tasks to let them learn in activities and know how to use language in real life situations.In order to achieve this aim,TBLT(Task-based Language Teaching)approach is widely used among English classes.However some books don't have good task design and some teachers do not clearly know the notion of TBLT approach.Thus,in order to provide certain suggestions for the teachers who compile textbooks and who do practical teaching,the author did this research on the distribution of different task-based activities in Kid's Box of Cambridge University Press.Based on qualitative and quantitative research methods,the author used questionnaires to comprehend the current books used by children for English learning and their learning needs,as well as the usage of the textbook Kid's Box.After getting these information,it was found that the research on this series of textbook is of great significance for study and then the author recorded the distribution of task-based activities in the six textbooks one by one.Focused on the research questions as the classification,characteristics,distribution of task-based activities in each volume,the effect of each task on the development of children's multiple intelligence,and the adjustment of different task types in each volume for the development of children'smultiple intelligence,the collected data were analyzed from the perspective of the difficulty level of the tasks,types of authenticity task,cultivation of language skills,language input and output,interactive effect and the cultivation of multiple intelligence.After the data analysis,it is found that the distribution and the difficulty level of tasks in each volume of this series of books are reasonably adjusted according to the cognitive level of learners,and the tasks are closely related to corresponding intelligence training.It is also found that the books focus on children's communicative ability which meets the needs of learners.Thus,this study can provide certain guidance for the compilation of children's English textbooks and teacher's in-class activity design in China.
