The Research Of Relationship Between Children And Adolescents' Exposure To Violent Games And Moral Disengagement And Academic Cheating

With the rapid development of electronic technology and information technology,electronic games have become an important social and entertainment way for children and adolescents.In order to make the games more attractive to players,most of the games on the market have violence,bloody and other elements that are not suitable for children and adolescents.Previous studies have found that violent game contact improves individual aggressiveness in physiology,cognition,emotion and behavior,and has a greater effect on children.Xinhua News Agency,December 7,2018,said that "The Ethics Committee for Online Games was recently established in Beijing to comment on the first 20 online games with moral hazard." Does violence,violation of social rules and other immoral elements in violent games affect children's moral cognition and other immoral behaviors except attacks? In addition,has the previously proven positive factor in violent games research-cooperation-also had a positive effect on morality?In this study,728 children and adolescents were selected as subjects,with grades ranging from grade 5 to grade 9.The violent video game contact scale,moral deduction scale and self-made academic cheating scale were used to investigate the relationship between children and adolescents' violent game contact and cooperative factors in games and moral deduction and academic cheating.The main conclusions are as follows:1.75.14% of the students surveyed have been exposed to violent video games more or less.2.The level of Moral Disengagement for boys is significantly higher than that for girls,and the level of Moral Disengagement for grade 9 students is significantly higher than that for other grades.3.There is a significant positive correlation between violent video game exposureand Moral Disengagement and academic cheating.Violent game exposure has a significant positive predictive effect on academic cheating,while violent game exposure has a significant positive predictive effect on Moral Disengagement.Moral Disengagement plays a part in mediating between exposure to violent video games and academic cheating.4.Cooperative factors in violent games play a moderating role between violent video game contact and Moral Disengagement.
