Ragtime is the product of the combination of African black music culture and European classical music system.It is the first music written by African Americans through writing.Its unique music style has laid a favorable foundation for the later development of jazz.How to better interpret Ragtime has become the main research direction at present,first of all,we must make an in-depth understanding of the historical background of Ragtime and the background of musical composition;secondly,perform a comprehensive analysis through its artistic skills and performance Finally,through the piano performance and integration of their emotions,let more people understand Ragtime.The author introduces the development of Ragtime and the classification of performance forms,and specifically takes Scott Joplin's "The Entertainers" and William Bolcom's "The Serpent's Kiss" as examples.The exploration of the performance styles of Getham's two works,so that he can accurately understand and grasp the works when performing.Trying to profoundly present the most typical black American music style.
