As a kind of modern writing,Bildungsroman's generation and development synchronized the evolution of the concept such as “adolescent” and “growth” in social culture, which implies the division of modern subjectivity.Under this circumstance, subject thinking and changes of cognition constitute the main narrative power of Bildungsroman.Traditional growing-up narrative takes the Enlightenment as core value, and the linear sense of time and teleological view of history the primary premise. This article will focus on the ideological and spiritual transition of main subject in “The Raw Youth”,the process of immaturity to comparatively maturity, combined with literature review on Dostoevsky's novels, letters, and political essays,as well as other scholars' statements,to figure out the author's thinking of modernity in growing narratives. The “complete” accidental family model connotatively demonstrates the debates on Russian modernization in the second half of 19 th century.Dostoyevsky alluded to historical transition of the country in terms of the growing-up process of a teenager in the family and illustrated the ideal generating path for Russian modernity, and applied “soil theory” to growing subject's absorption of both Western European and Slavic schools. In this case, the article also explores Dostoyevsky's breakthrough on traditional growing narrative strategy and the inspiration of this significant literary reform.
