| Since the May Fourth period,children's literature has become popular in China as an independent literary form.As a branch of literary translation system,children's novel translation has attracted more and more attention in recent years.Dialogue is the largest literary form in children's novels,which can best reflect the difference between children's novels translation and other literary translation.The thesis took the original sentences of the English children's novel The land of stories:the Wishing Spell as an example.From three aspects including the characteristics of word selection,the influencing factors of word selection and the strategy of word selection,the author talked about the dialogues in children's novels and its translation.Whether the dialogue translation or narrator translation of children's novels all needs to be accurate,vivid and characteristic.First of all,the selected text of this translation practice is mainly dialogue,so the words should reflect strong personal characteristics of characters.Secondly,the readers of children's novels are teenagers,and their cognition and appreciation of words also have their own characteristics.These are the two key points for translators to consider while selecting words.To be specific,the following translation strategies are adopted respectively: in case of language or cultural differences in the original text,the author adopts domestication strategy,using substitution method and conversion method to translate vocabularies and structures that are beyond children's understanding scope or make readers have difficulty in understanding.In addition,while translating,there are some cultural images that cannot be matched with the native language,or it is difficult to make readers understand the meaning by adopting thedomestication method.The author appropriately adopts the foreignization strategy to retain the characteristics of the original text,so that children can understand foreign cultures and broaden their horizons. |
