From the perspective of visual rhetoric,based on the theory of ritual communication and spatial production,this paper examines the cultural memory construction and effect of the national intangible cultural heritage of the Ancestor Worship Ceremony in the Yellow Emperor's Native Place.It mainly includes: First,the spatial representation of static spatial texts of the Yellow Emperor's cultural memory-take the Yellow Emperor's Native Place and its official website and WeChat public service platform as the research targets,mainly about their visual representation of visual elements,spatial association,design layouts,etc.Second,the spatial representation of dynamic spatial texts of the Yellow Emperor's cultural memory-the interaction among people,between space and people on the practical level,which is the ritual communication process of the ceremony.Third,the space of representation generated by both static and dynamic representation of space,that is to say,what social relations has produced by the ritual communication at the sacred moment and the daily life practice of the local residents or the daily ancestral worship at the secular moment,including the identification or resistance.In terms of research methods,according to the research content and purpose of this paper,the emphasis is on the interpretation of meaning and the display of interactive relationships.Therefore,following the path of qualitative research,the ethnography and in-depth interview are mainly used.The three fields involved in observation are: the Yellow Emperor's Native Place and its official website and WeChat public service platform.The selection of in-depth interviewees follows the method of intentional sampling,and combined with the principle of heterogeneity.the sampling frame of the interviewee is designed,and 36 interviewees are selected according to the sampling frame.According to the research,the static representation of space of the ceremony mainly uses the symbol rhetorical structure,but the visual rhetorical structure of the virtual space also has multi-modal media text intertextuality;The dynamic representation of space of the ceremony still visually uses the symbol rhetorical structure to enable the worshippers to complete a ritual from the separation stage of the welcoming ritual to the threshold stage of the ancestral ritual.Different levels of emotional energy are obtained in the interaction.The virtual rituals also exhibit features such as ritualization,re-ritualization and de-sanctification;On this basis,the comprehensive interview records and field observations show the social relationship production and deep discourse logic of the ceremony,which includes cultural identity,kinship identity,mainstream ideology identity,regional identity and identity resistance.In short,on the one hand,the ceremony inherits national cultural memory and constructs the identity,on the other hand,due to identity restrictions and spatial separation,etc,it is not a cultural memory shared by everyone to remember the common ancestor.Although the virtualization of the worship space has brought about the equalization of memory power and so on,the mitigation effect on this contradiction is limited.To better play the role of the ceremony to enhance cultural self-confidence and build consensus,we need to make improvements and innovations in the both virtual and real space.
