Translation Ethics Of Truth,Goodness,and Beauty

This thesis builds the basic framework of ethical relations between translation subjects by drawing on the basic framework and research methods of ethical pursuit under philosophy.To verify the rationality of this translation ethics framework,this thesis analyzes the translation activities of Ye Junjian,which also renders a new theoretical perspective for Ye Junjian's research.Like other human activities,translation is a subjective activity circumscribed to personal consciousness and intends to achieve its own goal.Subjects involved in different activities indicate ethical relationship among themselves,which instructs people to communicate with the world.To pursue truth,goodness,and beauty enjoys the central stage of human practice.The thesis believes that translation ethics of truth,goodness,and beauty is constructed among subjects of translation activities.The major finding is: a translator's truth-seeking ethics is reflected by the correct disclosure of the content and feeling expressed in the objective world,that is,the source text.When consciously and purposefully rendering the source text,and producing the target text conformed to readers' values,the translator forms a translation ethics of goodness with readers.The ethical pursuit of beauty allows people more proactively explore the truth of the objective world,showcasing the essential connection between a translator and the target text.As the translation ethics of truth,goodness,and beauty demonstrate its rationality,the translation ethics research can be further explored from the aspect of above three ethical relations,which contribute to provide multi-perspective thinking for explaining translation phenomena.
