The Chinese language teaching of the Philippine Public Basic Education System began in 2011 with the implementation of “SPFL-Mandarin” by the Philippine Department of Education.In the past eight years,the increasing demand for Mandarin teachers has pointed to the higher requirements of the local Chinese teacher training model.Cultivating a team of professional local Chinese teachers with Chinese cultural sentiments has become a must-have for improving "hematopoietic function" in local Chinese teachers training.This paper introduces in detail the development of Chinese teaching in the public basic education system in the Philippines and the composition of the local Chinese teacher.The respondents of this study are the 79 students who are currently taking“Bachelor of Secondary Education Major in English and Chinese Language Teaching” in Angeles University Foundation.Respondents are asked about the training of professional local Chinese teachers under the framework of the "SPFL-Mandarin" of the Philippine Department of Education by answering a questionnaire.This paper mainly uses literature analysis methods,teaching effectiveness analysis methods,questionnaire survey methods and interview methods.Based on the theory of motivational induction,cultural identity is particularly important for the cultivation of professional local Chinese teachers.In addition,combining with the practical characteristics of Bachelor of Secondary Education Major in English and Chinese Language Teaching students,the development and maintenance of a strong sense of professional identity is of great significance to them.In this regard,the author proposes that "Immersive Chinese Teaching" plays a decisive role in the cultural identity and professional identity of the "Chinese Teacher Education Undergraduate students".It is concluded that the cultural identity and professional identity of the students of the "Chinese Teacher Education Undergraduate Program" at Angeles University Foundation are generally high,and the implementation effect of "Immersive Chinese Teaching" is positively related to the students' cultural identity and professional identity.Therefore,strengthening immersion teaching is an important means of cultivating professional local Chinese teachers with Chinese cultural sentiments.
