This paper mainly studies the writing errors of foreign student in the HSK Band-6test.The HSK Band-6 test is the most difficult of all levels,and the writing test accounts for one third of the total score.Therefore,the score of the writing test determines a large part in the total score of the test.This paper takes the real exam questions made by foreign students as the research object,aiming to find out the types of errors frequently made by them,analyze the causes of errors,and put forward the relative teaching suggestions.This paper mainly analyzes Chinese characters,words,grammar,discourse,format and punctuation,finds out the types of errors in various aspects,classifies the errors according to Corder's error analysis steps,analyzes the causes of errors,and proposes corresponding solutions according to the causes.The assessment of the severity of the errors,and proposes the corresponding solution according to reasons.In the process of analysis,three research methods are adopted: literature review,statistical analysis and error analysis.The study found that foreign students not only had errors in the content of the articles,but also in the writing style of the articles.Format errors mainly include title and paragraph,and content errors mainly include Chinese characters,words,grammar,discourse and punctuation.The error of Chinese characters is analyzed from two aspects:wrong character and other characters.Words are analyzed from meaning,writing,collocation and coinage.Grammatical errors are analyzed from misrepresentation,omission,redundancy,wrong order,and mixed.The text is expanded from concatenation and abbreviation,and punctuation marks are expanded from shape,format and function.Through analysis,the author finds that the causes of these errors come from many aspects.Finally,according to the reasons of the errors,this paper puts forward some suggestions from both the teachers and the students,in order to reduce the number of errors in the writing questions and improve the students' scores.
