Unearthed Documents And The Study Of Exegesis On Antient Chinese Language And Lexical Meaning

Unearthed documents provide a lot of graphic forms and language materials,which are highly important for the study of exegesis on antient Chinese language and lexical meaning.Based on unearthed documents,scholars have made many researches on exegesis on antient Chinese language and lexical meaning.The main content of this thesis is to select and collect some typical research results,and classify,sort out and evaluate them,in order to show the methods by which scholars study the problems of exegesis on antient Chinese language and lexical meaning by the use of unearthed documents and the role of unearthed documents in the study of exegesis on antient Chinese language and lexical meaning.There are 5 chapters in this thesis.Chapter 1 named To explore the original meaning of semantograms demonstrates the examples of exploring the original meaning of semantograms by use of unearthed documents and the problems about relating original meaning with derived meanings and cognate words.Chapter 2 named To comprehend lexical meanings by the use of the semantic components of picto-phonetic characters demonstrates the suggestive role of the semantic components of picto-phonetic characters in comprehend lexical meanings and the examples of exploring lexical meanings by the use of the semantic components of picto-phonetic characters.Chapter 3 named To discriminate the lexical meanings demonstrates the examples of discriminating the lexical meanings by the use of unearthed documents.Chapter 4 named To reveal new meanings demonstrates the examples of revealing new lexical meanings by the use of unearthed documents.Chapter 5 named To verify and illuminate the materials of exegesis on antient Chinese language demonstrates the examples of verifying and illuminating the materials of exegesis on antient Chinese language by the use of unearthed documents.The aim of the thesis is to reveal the reason why unearthed documents are highly important for the study of exegesis on antient Chinese language and lexical meaning,the role of unearthed documents in it,and the problems met when studying exegesis on antient Chinese language and lexical meaning by the use of unearthed documents.The conclusion of this thesis summarize these problems.
