Giulio Caccini was the founder of Italian classical songs at the beginning of the 17 th century.His representative work "Nuove Musiche" is a collection of classical art songs specially created for the bel canto."Ave Maria" is the most popular vocal music work in this collection and has unique artistic charm.In particular,the only one line of lyrics in the whole song not only highlights the unique character of Caccini in creation,but also reflects the humanism spark in the Renaissance in the early 17 th century.The lyrics of this song are more secular in content.It breaks through the confinement of religious theology and advocates the liberation of personality.For the singer,this work requires the singer to use bel canto to express the praise to Maria in the repeated lyrics.It has high requirements in melody and language.it needs to learn from the song's creation background,artistic conception,accompaniment and language,et cetera.This paper takes the European classical vocal music "Ave Maria" in the author's master degree concert as an example to analyze and explore the historical background,musical characteristics and singing suggestions of the work,so as to provide inspiration for the singing and teaching of the work.The text is divided into five parts.The first part mainly elaborates the research status at home and abroad,practical significance and academic value of the art song of "Ave Maria".The second part mainly discusses the historical background and the position in music of Caccini's "Ave Maria",understands its cultural background of,and extracts important information.In the third part,it analyzes the musical features of Caccini's "Ave Maria" in order to make vocal music learners understand Caccini's works and creative features,so as to grasp and deal with songs more accurately.The fourth part,through analyzing the breath,timbre and intensity of this song,it is helpful for vocal learners to improve their singing skills.The analysis of singing versions of different singers is helpful to improve the appreciation ability of vocal learners.The five part discusses the singing proposal of Caccini's "Ave Maria",bringing more useful information and value to the author and the majority of vocal music lovers.Therefore,to study this song as a religious art song is helpful to improve the comprehensive musical quality of vocal music learners.
