A Report On Translation Of The Transition Towards Sustainable Energy Production

Energy is the material foundation on which human beings depend.With the development of the world economy and population growth,the demand for energy from human beings is increasing.This thesis takes an English academic paper on energy exploration topics in the SAGE journal database as an example(translated into more than 13,000 words in Chinese).Based on Reiss text type theory,this thesis explores the methods and skills of translating energy academic texts into Chinese.This translation practice introduces the background and significance of translation projects,and elaborates the current situation of academic text translation research at home and abroad.On this basis,this practice report mainly uses the inductive and deductive research methods to analyze the language characteristics of energy academic papers,and points out the characteristics of the large load of energy technology terms in the text.In the process of translating energy academic papers,the author mainly follows the principles of fidelity,readability,and academicity of academic text translation.Based on the characteristics of energy academic papers,such as strong professionalism,rigorous style of writing,concise and standard words,translation skills such as supplementary methods,paraphrasing methods,and transliteration methods are mainly used at the vocabulary translation level.At the sentence translation level,the translation skills such as transformation,parsing and amplification are emphasized.At the level of discourse translation,this thesis explores from the perspective of omission and amplification in translation.Through the use of the above translation skills,the author strives to improve the language quality of the translation.At the same time,I hope that this energy academic text translation practice report can provide reference for other texts of the same type.
