The source text contains two articles The Chinese Revolution and The Feudal China.The Dynasties of Hsia,Shang and Chau,written by James Legge,a famous sinologist.The author hopes this thesis will provide beneficial reference to those who research Chinese history and James Legge.The Chinese Revolution mainly tells Legge' s description and expectation to the Taiping rebellion.The Dynasties of Hsia,Shang and Chau primarily concerned with the chronicles of Hsia,Shang and Chau.There are primarily five parts of the thesis.The first part is about the brief text content,the requirement of translation,the current study and the significance of study.The second part is about the content and characteristics of the source text.And the third part is an introduction about the process of translation.The forth part mainly introduces the translation problems and translation methods of historical terms and sentences.The fifth part is about translation difficulties and solutions.The sixth part is the summary of the translation practice.The research methods of this thesis mainly including textual research method,document reference and translation software.
