The source text of this translation practice is an excerpt from Copenhagen:people and places, written by Pernille Stensgaard,a Danish writer and journalist. The original text is Danish and has been translated into English by W.Glyn Jones. It is the English version that the author works on.The book mainly tells the story of Copenhagen about its past and present: the face of the city today, the people living there, its history, architecture, characteristics and spirit. The book not only shows the ancient and beautiful scenery of the capital city, but also introduces the seven areas that raise the citizens of Copenhagen-Vesterbro,Fredericksburg,N?rrebro,Osterbro,Christianshavn,Amager and New Copenhagen. The source text selected by the author mainly includes three thematic chapters: urban landscape, the thought and life of local people in Copenhagen, streets and buildings. The book has used other types of texts for reference, quoted other people's works and words, used some common sayings and colloquialism, mentioned the development of capitalism in Copenhagen, etc.,which provides a good basis for discussing the application of Intertextuality Theory and its relationship with translation in this paper.Based on the theory of Intertextuality, this report analyzes the Chinese translation of Copenhagen-people and places by comprehensively considering the cultural factors such as history, religion, customs and social habits.Combined with the specific context, the translation strategies such as annotation, amplification and replacement are used to reduce the loss of information carried by cultural images in the process of translation,so as to dig out the city spirit and life style that the original author wants to really convey. At the lexical level, the author analyzes the translation of idioms, proper nouns and culture loaded words. At the sentential level, the author, through translation, shows the intertextual relations represented by popular sentences and people's words, then explores the translation strategies for English spoken language and written language, analyzes the intertextuality between places and literature.
