The Chinese Names,Pseudonyms and Appellations of the Jesuits were the precursors to other problems of the missionaries who entered China in the late Ming and early Qing dynasties. They widely existed in various Catholic documents during this period.Note that they are more subtle and scattered than the writings of missionaries, but at the same time they are colorful. They are the witness of history and history itself. They are the signs of the cultural choice of missionaries. It is the attitude of Chinese society towards Catholicism. The various aspects of the society in the late Ming Dynasty can be explored in the many Appellations of Matteo Ricci. The social turmoil and changes from Ming to Qing can be viewed from the Chinese names. From these materials,we can not only see the missionary's own thoughts, cultures, and interests, but also reflect the changes in missionary strategies in different periods. At the same time, some unnoticeable psychology will also be naturally revealed in the Appellations.Based on the above considerations, this article is mainly divided into three chapters. The first chapter is an inductive summary and feature analysis of the Chinese names and characters of Jesuits who came to China in the late Ming and early Qing dynasties.Self-cognition and other understanding in titles. The third chapter is divided into two sections, which mainly discuss the historical value and significance of missionary Chinese names,Pseudonyms and Appellations.Through the discussion of the three chapters,we can see that the encounter between the missionaries and the late Ming and early Qing dynasties is also our encounter with the missionaries.Any of their strategic choices are made based on the culture, politics, and customs of the missionary. Therefore, while we care for them,we are also looking after our past, even now.In this sense, the Chinese title of the missionary has high research value.
